Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

The short version: Cloud Clipper does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers. Your clips go directly from your browser to your own Google Drive.

What Cloud Clipper does

Cloud Clipper is a Chrome browser extension that converts web pages to Markdown and saves them to your Google Drive account. All processing happens locally in your browser.

Data we do not collect

Google Drive access

Cloud Clipper requests permission to access your Google Drive in order to save clipped files. This access is used solely to create and save Markdown files in folders you specify. We use Google's official OAuth 2.0 authentication — your Google credentials are never seen or stored by Cloud Clipper.

Cloud Clipper's use of Google Drive is limited to creating files on your behalf. We do not read, modify, or delete any existing files in your Drive.

Local storage

Cloud Clipper stores the following data locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage:

This data never leaves your device except as part of the standard Chrome sync mechanism, which is controlled entirely by your own Google account settings.

Third-party services

Cloud Clipper communicates directly with Google's APIs (Drive API, OAuth) to save files and authenticate. Your use of these services is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
